As part of the "Communication Days" events organized by Fırat University Faculty of Communication, Show TV Main News Anchor Pınar Erbaş Ersoy shared her media experiences with university students.

The "Communication Days" conference organized by Faculty of Communication Public Relations and Publicity Department Dr. Lecturer Mehmet Fatih Çakar and his students at Atatürk Cultural Center was attended by Fırat University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yılmaz, General Secretary Prof. Dr. Sinan Akpınar, Faculty of Communication Dean Prof. Dr. Nural İmik Tanyıldızı and Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Adem Doğan, Elazığ Fırat Basin Journalists Association President Serkan Göktürk, academics and students.

“I did my best”

Show TV Main News Anchor Pınar Erbaş Ersoy said that her first chance in life was to choose Galatasaray University Faculty of Communications with both her own will and the will and support of her family and to step into this path. Ersoy stated that she started her career as an intern, worked there for four years and progressed by gaining experience in the field she loved.

Stating that she worked at Habertürk television for a while, Ersoy said that she later participated in test shoots for news anchoring and that she was considered for the Show TV main news bulletin by phone. Ersoy made the following statements about the process of starting the Show TV main news: “I did not swim in the river, I was thrown directly into the ocean. My entry process into television was very sudden and unexpected.”

Underlining that this job is a very difficult process, Ersoy emphasized that she improved herself in the sector every day by watching herself in this field over and over again, criticizing her, and especially taking her criticism with the support of her mother and correcting her mistakes.

“If we do our job well, artificial intelligence cannot take our jobs away from us”

Show TV Main News Anchor Pınar Erbaş Ersoy, who also answered the questions of the students, answered the question, “How should verification of news be with the development of artificial intelligence?” as follows:

“Let artificial intelligence develop as much as it wants! What makes the difference is how you write, interpret, take photos or edit the news. Artificial intelligence will never be able to get ahead in this regard. The human factor and the conscience factor are completely different things. I speak, write and convey according to the people of my country and the language they understand. Can it catch up to this situation? I don’t know. If it can, let it catch up! Will it take our jobs away from us? Let it take it away. This is the law of nature. If you are better than the best, you will always remain in the background and do something else. The daily benefits of artificial intelligence are indisputable. We will see what awaits us in the future…”

At the end of the conference, Show TV Main News Anchor Pınar Erbaş Ersoy was presented with the Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yılmaz and Dean of the Faculty of Communication Prof. Dr. Nural İmik Tanyıldızı presented a plaque and flowers.
